The Black Madonnas are portraits that show the dark and sensual side of Woman.
Intimate, silent and still... It's like leaving the outside world and stepping into a temple...
I personally feel the energy of the Sacred Prostitute archetype a lot in those portraits;
Women who were Priestesses of the Goddess of Love, teaching the mysteries and wisdom of the Feminine through sacred sexuality, through their incarnated bodies.
The Black Madonna is mostly a Christian figure nowadays. But deep below this image, She was always a powerful chtonic being.
As an artist, I wish to show her in a new, wild and sensual light... something more sacred and more real.
The photoshoots are conducted in a ceremonial and casual way. Woman to woman, together we will step into this imaginal temple.
The sessions often act as a powerful healing experience. There is something very liberating about reclaiming our sensuality for ourselves, away from the male gaze. I will be by your side as a healer, a Priestess, but above all as a woman and sister.
